As soon as i attach my mobo to the tray via the standoffs - No boot or power lights.

Works fine on a cardboard box.

Nothing touching the tray, solder points etc..

Could there be any current or such passing through the standoffs and screws to short it ?

Do you use nylon washers to insulate your mobo, i never have ?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, i'm stuck.

Cheers :)

I expect it's an earthing issue. Either the PSU has a slight short to it's case, or motherboard is shorting to earth.

The mainboard is intended to earth on it's fixing holes.

this usually means that one of the motherboard stands is misplaced.

if you have one thats somewhere your mobo doesn't have a screw hole for it, then it could be shorting it out.

i once had a case that have fixed mounts, but one of them didn't match up with my mobo and shorted it out, i just used some insolutation tape over it to prevent the short, as they were fixed to the case and couldn't be removed

I'd go with Cycow too, look at the mounts as the motherboard goes into the case, i've had things like this and its always been a post in the wrong place or missing completely from the right place.
