HIGNFY is still number one and Mock the Week is still joint second with Buzzcocks.

8/10 cats was very very funny tonight though, surprisingly so!

i enjoy the main cast apart from russell, hes what ross noble would be like if he was ****.

i watched the too hot for tv on youtube and they were quality, dont know why the bbc didnt air these. pansies.

Just cut to the chase, Frankie Boyle should be on all week.

I think the best moment I've seen on Mock The Week was on one of the "wheel of topics" segments. Frankie Boyle was the last of the four to have a go at stand-up on the selected topic, so he had what was left. The topic left was...animals. There was a brief pause in which you could almost see the others thinking "He's going to talk about bestiality, isn't he?". Then he started talking about pets and vets for just long enough for people to think he wasn't going to talk about bestiality, then casually commented that he couldn't be a vet because he'd be shagging the patients. Shagging an owl would be good, because you could have eye contact whatever angle you took it from. Impeccable timing on his part. His comedy is very crude, but he doesn't try to make crudeness substitute for comedy.

I've only seen the last few episodes of Mock The Week after finding it browsing iplayer when I was bored, but if I can get earlier episodes, I will.

I like Have I Got News For You as well. Two different approches to the same basic idea. One refined, one...not.

The best joke ever on mock the week was cut and put on the dvd, search for Frankie Boyle cut joke on youtube. It's absolutely stunning, sends everyone, including the other panelists into histerics.

dont get me wrong, i watch mock the week religiously. but its getting worse every week.

Frankie boyle uses shock value to get laughs, hes said some brilliant stuff, but now he just seems to use that method all the time.

Russell Howard just comes out with the most thoughtless crap, he says it, then he realises how crap it was and just pulls a face. He gets right on my nerves.

Hugh Dennis seems pretty intelligent and comes out with some good stuff, and its good that he eventually answers the questions after they have been milking every shred of crap comedy they can out of them.

And Andy Parsons just seems to give up in the end round, because every time he goes to the Mic frankie boyle barges in and tries to steal the show.

Yeah i have to say this season some brilliant stuff but some crap as well.
To me it has become to revloved around Boyle. And there is now to much of him in it.
R Howard used to be better as well, he is now the kids entertainer now.
Hugh Dennis has kinda taken more of a back seat same with Parsons and both i would like to see more of. And they both seem rather lack luster after a while with Boyle and Howard.
But it is still worth the watch on a crap night.

Dennis goes back a long way and I was really surprised when I saw him on telly again, having not seen him for probably 15 years since the Mary Whitehouse Experience series. It's odd because he's a subtle funny guy, really makes me laugh, and I wonder how much (or even if) he's been working behind the cameras. Hope so because I really like him :)

He's been doing The Now Show on Radio 4 for the past few years, not sure what else. The Now Show is brilliant though, much more frequently funny than many topical TV shows imo, although Mock The Week is great.
