Hiya guys,

Booked my Mod 1 test today, I've read the sticky watched countless youtube videos and tried to absorb all the information and advice.

Just wondering if anyone has sat the test recently and able to perhaps share more tips etc.

All help is gratefully received.

I'll be using a Honda Hornet for the test if it makes a difference.

Thanks

just practice your riding system, lifesavers when speeding up and braking/turning ect

relax and don't panic

haha I know the feeling, just relax and try to remember what you've been taught, can always ride how you want after passing

there's no better feeling than when the instructor say's to you im pleased to say you've passed !!

Definitely and i hope those are the words i hear at the end of the test!:)

It's appears that a lot of what you do on your MOD 1 test are things that you did on your CBT anyway?

Hopefully do my MOD 2 then the following week.

yeah, your riding system but you'll be on a larger bike 500cc I think

just take care if its wet and slippy, diesel spills and man hole covers ect

Just passed my mod 1 :) I got 4 minors but I don't think it matters if you passed lol.

The main problem I had I was thinking about if I messed up and that made me mess up more :(

The instructor gives you plenty of time and you should know what is coming up next. Just go through your actions in your head and try not to rush it all and forget something...like a lifesaver when pulling away.

I did my CBT 2 days ago, the guy said I should have another lesson on the 125 just to make sure I'm ready for the mod 1, probably a good idea I suppose, its quite expensive though.

Yeah just make sure, even on mod 1 that you do your lifesavers between pulling away, even in the yard between tests :)

I stalled my bike on the emergency brake test, passed as coming to a controlled stop is what counts :)

Mod 1 is rather easy as long as you listen to the instructor and don't panic.

0 faults ;)

Like me, you'll pobably have one of the tests that you're ******** yourself about - mine was the slalolm/figure of 8. Deep breath before you set off, right mirror, left mirror, right shoulder, left shoulder every time before you move off.

Thanks guys for all the tips and advice,

I'm looking forward to it, but of course still very nervous as i really want to pass and get out on my bike, i've cleaned it far to much already lol.

I'll will be focusing on:

Relaxing
Listening to the instructors instructions
Checks on both mirrors and shoulders before moving off

Hopefully i'll get it cracked out and move onto MOD 2 :)

Thanks guys.

Update time,

Had my Mod 1 on Tuesday and I'm happy to say i passed with zero minors:D

Was quite nervous to begin with but soon settled and enjoyed it, although it only seemed to last a few minutes.

Had 54kph on the emergency stop and 53kph on avoidance.

booking Mod 2 asap!

Massive thanks to all that offered advice and tips etc, it's very much appreciated.

Congrats! The next bit is a lot easier IMO. There are a few things to watch out for though:

When at roundabouts and junctions make sure and double sure that you are in the right lane. If you are not that's it.

When asked to stop at the side of the road in a safe place dont stop opposite a junction, near traffic islands, or a bus stop. In fact at one point on my mod 2 I just kept riding as I couldn't see a safe place.

Well done. It is all over very quickly, it's easy to pass but also easy to fail!

Mod 2 is the easy bit, cancel your indicators, don't swan neck on junctions, and get up to the speed limit swiftly. Just ride in a very safe manner but still make progress. Easy :)

Wrong lane on a roundabout isn't a problem at all. If you find yourself in the wrong lane, just go with it, take the exit you should take for the lane you're in. As long as you do it safely and properly then there won't be an issue if you go the wrong way.
