I was going to say its just a variable resistor - but its not even a variable resistor! Costs about 4p

Its more likely to kill an old car than do anything interesting to it
 
Its the best mod to do if he would like his engine management light to be on all the time...won't do **** all else though...

These resistors just fool the ignition into running more advance, which can cause all sorts of problems at worst, and a tiny increase in tractability at best.

Avoid like the plague.

And the only way you'll squeeze any more real power out of that car is by spending big bucks on the engine (extremely pointless) or swapping the engine.
 
Wow gain half the engine power again from just £7, amazing. Wonder why Peugeot didn't fit them originally.
 
Fitted one to my Golf. Unfortunately the resulting torque ripped the front of my car clean off :(
