Modding advice

Hi there. I am in need of some advice when it comes to creating my own cables for my fans in order to minimise the untidiness of my case.

I know i could simply buy extension cables for the fans but i thought i might try my hand at doing my own. The problem i have is that im not sure what cable i would need to do this. I've looked around and the only thing ive come across is the usability of 18 awg but as i haven't got a clue im wondering if someone could shed some light on it.

Braid the existing cables?

You can shorten them as well if that's what you need.

I saw that tutorial but i need to make the cables longer and attach them to a modmytoys 3 pin splitter as they look untidy when directly connected to the mobo
