Modding types eh?

£7500? what does a standard GTi6 go for at that age/condition/mileage?
I love the way people assume that mods are an investment. I also think anyone who either paid a deposit to test drive it or considered buying it based on him driving it need to increase their meds :(

Ahh little French cars, bless. :D

Now you really want to fit a supercharger to a proper motor, such as in this.

I know my 540i would simply self destruct if I fitted one with the miles on it.

;-)

A standard GTI-6 goes for £1000-2500 depending on age/mods and work done.

The garage is well regarded on the GTI-6 owners club, and I imagine he will be using it mainly as an advert for his work.

There are always people willing to spend lots of money on their cars and im sure it makes a change to build someone a supercharged car than fix some mucky vans rear brakes ;)

In this case the mods certainly do add value, as there is a demand for the kits, and keeping the number produced low seems to be holding the value. A used supercharger kit will command around £2000 if it is complete with all the oils etc. Then obviously you have to fit it or have it fitted for you.

What is a little insane is the fact there are supercharged GTI-6 engine'd 205 GTI's.

As for a supercharged 540i, they already make a quicker version, its called the M5? And I know what I would rather have on a B road!

I wasn't suggesting that a throttle wasn't analogue but surely like 30% throttle on a average corner would send you straight

how much do you think this would effect running costs/mpg

Hmm...

*Looks outside window and has bad thoughts* :o.

The VTS/GTI6 lump is pretty damn impressive in regards to supercharging. I understand that you can simply bolt on a low boost setup and not worry too much about the rest of the engine being able to handle it. There also seems to be very little issues when it comes to reliability? I'm just not convinced that a supercharger would really match the nature of the engine?

It's a shame that N/A modifications on the engine aren't nearly as fruitful. I remember staring down the barrel of a £1,500+ bill for mods for perhaps 30BHP if I was really, really lucky

Any car, be it a 1.0 Corsa or an Impreza will go straight over a corner if you are going fast enough. A 370bhp GTI-6 is no different.

They key to all this is actually being able to drive. You judge the corner, slow down, turn in and accelerate out.

The videos posted above don't look fast until you see the speedo, and the fly-by.

A good sleeper that one!
