modern art recommendations

i have recently bought a new flat, which has considerable wall space that is currently rather empty. given that the overall decor of the space is modern and quite open i am hoping to put some art up.

can anyone recommend places to source such art - not necessarily original pieces. i don't really want prints so something on a canvus as a standard if possible.

don't really know much about art so would value your input.

indeed, perhaps you might recommend some art works themselves, mindful of the modern trend of the flat thu far.

You know you can get art prints on canvas ?

This will be much much cheaper than buying actual art from gallery.

I like some of the stuff found in the small art shops in larger malls. can usually find a few that i could spend money on (and will soon!)
