Modern games: Who bares the load CPU or GFX card?

Some peeps here are just obsessed with their Non Native Quads, even though they could probably got by till Native ones arrive and even then most apps/games wont use all cores for a while.

Oblivion lags on my X2 4600 and 8800 GTX when 6+ NPCs are on screen at once, especially when up close :( I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU but I'm not sure if it'd make a difference...

You can force Oblivion to make use of multi core cpu's. There is an excellent guide at Tweakguides.com on how to optimise Oblivion and there's also a useful thread on this forum as well. I have done all the optimising and have loads of mods installed and it runs and looks amazing maxxed out at 1280x1024, especially as Nvidia seems to have fixed the slowdown with the latest beta driver.

Because regardless of how many times V|per says otherwise, Bioshock doesn't really use multi-core CPUs. :)

^^ true actually :D

It appears that all 4 cores a re being used in my bioshock, but i really should have removed the copious ammount's of spyware i had 1st...

Apologies ppl

ArmA is a game that really pushes my hole system, Both GFX and CPU temps are pushed higher than any other game as well as mem,NB and other system components.
It seems to be a good game to test overall system stability.
It had my CPU running as hot as it does under Orthos and at the same time the Temps of my GTX were higher than during 3Dmark 06. My Rads felt hot to touch and the 3 x 120Exhaust fans were throwing out enough hot air to melt an ice cap.
