Can sony not update with new security software or something because this is ridiculous, I bought the console mostly for online gaming. And think it's pretty terrible of a company to let games get out of hand like that, consiering you pay £40 or whatever for the game and can't really get full use of it.

Would they not just fix it in an update and then only allow new firmware into online play? I have no idea what the security lapse is btw.

Would be gotten around once again. As many have said, PS3 security is compromised so now it's about as useless as a choccy fire-guard.

Hmm okay then, out of 6 games I joined and played in 4 of them had hacks. One had the sniper headshotting while spinning, one had the 30 foot jumping, one tried to unlock all the challenges and guns for me and the other one had some guy with an infinite noob tube and no need to reload either so... yeah.

worse thing is, even though people bash MW2 because lets face it, its the 'in' thing to do, the game itself isn't half bad, its a bit simplistic but its enjoyable both single player and online, the soundtrack in single player is superb as well. for me i think its a shame to see it end like this, we at least for the PS3 players!

And the games on top of that is a mute point, since in this argument you've already bought MW2, you'd just have bought it for 360 instead of PS3. You dont purchase any more games than if you only had 1 console, its just you buy some on xbox, some on PS3.

That's how I see it, some games are really meant for a specific console.

Call of Duty is better on 360, Final Fantasy is better on PS3.

If you can afford one and a HDTV already i mean. The extra cost of a Xbox 360 compared with the outlay of the above is negligible.

If you can save like £5/600 for that lot, you can save a bit more for an xbox360.

Think I've got some rechargeable Energizers somewhere. I'm just a bit fed up of the PS3 online at the moment, not the recent hacking and stuff but the fact that getting into a game with friends is often such a faff and that Microsoft really have it licked with the Party system. I was hopeful of Sony catching up sometime soon but I bet most of their resources now will just go on trying to stop people hacking online and bringing out constant firmware updates. I'm sure MW2 on the 360 has it's share of cheaters but I bet it's nowhere near as bad as it is currently on the 360. Last night I had a friend round and was so sure I'd find someone cheating that I went online to show him what I was talking about. Lo and behold the very first game I went in had a guy hovering over the top of the map, with a shotgun 1 hit killing people through walls and buildings right as they'd spawned.

They need to introduce servers that can be rented and administrated by players, as they did for PC, then you can simple ban the offending cheats. Introduce a global ban list so x amount of bans from servers gets you a complete ban.

Has this got worse since the PS3 hacking situation? When I bought this again about 2 or 3 weeks ago it was absolutely fine. No hackers or anything (on S&D). Now it's unplayable.

So far only Red Dead Redemption as I traded my PS3 copy in. I was gonna pick up Forza 3 as it's dirt cheap and maybe Black Ops again if I have the inclination but probably not. I've got a copy of Modern Warfare as well.
