Modern Warfare II Killer!

Looks 'okay' to me, I don't think it'll be a Modern Warfare 2 killer like the title of this thread but then seeing as I haven't yet played either game I can't really comment I suppose. Although these games' predecessors were nothing alike. I thought that Bad Company was shoddy especially the 'destructive' environments which were a huge let down to me, whereas COD4 was a breath of fresh air, technically astounding and a real blast online in my opinion. :)

cod 4 is ok but i find Battlefield franchise so much better and more varied in playstyle...especially Battlefield 2..i thought bad company 1 had 1 major flaw...it was on console only and the control with a ps3 pad was crap compared to laser mouse and keyboard of a pc...this is the only reason i dont play it on my ps3,infact i dont play anything on my ps 3 LoL...the destuctible environments is what makes this different to all the other online shooters, totally changes tactics and playstyles...i heard in bad company 2 you can now level whole buildings if you have the right tools!

Each to their own obviously, but I think Modern Warfare 2 will be WWWAAAAYYYYY better than Bad Company 2. I just prefer the play style of Modern Warfare to Bad Company, but it maybe the other way around, we'll have to wait and see....

CoD4 a breath of fresh air? Really?

It's CoD2 with modern weapons, it plays and feels exactly the same.

I didn't think that, the way the single player campaign is presented is completely different to COD2. And it was a breath of fresh air seeing as every COD before it was set in WW2 whereas Modern Warfare obviously wasn't. It was praise by the majority of reviewers for ditching the stale WW2 theme so in that regard it was most definitely a fresh experience not just for me but for the majority of the gaming media too.

I agree with you about the control scheme but I don't agree with the 'variety' that Battlefield 2 had. If anything it was a lack of variety. 80% of servers are just playing Warfare or whatever the game mode is called. That's not very varied in my opinion. I also thought the destructable environments in Bad Company were a joke. You blow a building up, only for it to have bugger all inside, or in a few cases, the same table and chairs in every building. What's the point in letting you blow buildings up if they have the same crappy interior in each one?

i think bad company 2 is the blueprinted testing ground for the Ultimate BF3..i suppose this will have to do to fill the gap for now;)

yes but how can running around infantry only (Cod Style) compare to Bf2 tanks,jets,attack/transport choppers, apcs, vodniks, jeeps etc,all that require a good deal of skill, especially the jets and combat choppers(pilot and co-pilot)...i dont think there is no comparison but hey each to there own...having over 2400 hrs on bf2(retired) i cannot wait for destructible environments on the pc...Yipee;)

Well, World at War had vehicles that were implemented quite well and apparently Modern Warfare 2 is going to expand on that so I think we'll all have to wait and see which game gets the better reviews. Although all that really matters is that you enjoy whichever you buy, and that there is no reason why both games cannot be good. :)

Not in the slightest, cod2 was an incredibly slow paced game and bolt weapon dominated, as well as having an altering recoil pattern to cod4. Nevermind about all the news guns, maps and the fact it's not ww2. so ye.

Loved every Battlefield so far but Vietnam has to be my most fav :D

Cant wait for this anyway ! :)

I loved BFV.

I doubt very much that BC2 will kill MW2.

You got to remember that, this is an EA title. EA sucks so hard compared to Activision/IW for support of games.

I do think, that BF3 will be awesome, so long as EA don't rip us off for servers and patches.

I have to say I disagree with that. I thought the vehicles were poorly implemented and felt like a Friday afternoon addition. No complaints about the rest of the gameplay but the vehicles were crap.

The vehicles in BF2 were excellently incorporated into the game and were integral to a team achieving its objectives. If Modern Warfare 2 did vehicles in the fashion of the BF: Special Forces mod then it would clean up but sadly I don't think it will.

Different types of games tbh, MW had an enjoyable sp but I wasn't a big fan of the mp, Bad company 2 looks pretty good and I've always been a fan of the Battlefield franchise but I'm more excited about BF3 though.

imo there's only GRAW3 that will compete against MW2.

However I know of no release date, I dont even know if it is in the making.

lol GRAW3, sorry i not taking a poke at you, but i cant stand Ubisoft at all.

Bad Company 2 im guessing is going to be small scale multiplayer? not like BF2?

The Battlefield games were stunningly good compared to COD4. BF2 and 2142 took up so much of my time and like others have said the vehicle aspect was just brilliant. I'll be all over this - I've been waiting for a decent BF game to come out.

i started a thread on bc a while ago, can't wait for it, but it's a different sort of game to cod as in bf you rely on team mates a lot more were as in cod you're a 1 man army
