Just looking around for some modified Impreza pics, but havent seen many, the model im interested is;

Subaru_Impreza_Wolfrace-2.jpg

Or anything around the £5k and below mark... it would be nice to have a bit of cash left over from my £5k for insurance etc...

Anyone seen any nice modified examples with links? :p

Also, Importing these cars looks very interesting, prices are awesome even after shipping uk cert and uk conversion. The cars are usually performance modified with no expense spared and some decent power outputs. Another thing ive noticed is mileage is always low and the conditions are fantastic.

Anyone ever had an import of know anymore about importing? where to look, etc.

Anything to shed a little more light on this area and on this particular car will be much appreciated...

If I was incharge, driving an Impreza Turbo without an enormous rear wing would be an endorsable offence, 3 points and a £60 fine.

Actually I reckon it looks a lot better without that silly huge spoiler, and that particular car would look better still without that web address on the front.

Nice cars :D

cheers andi

Drexel, thats awesome man!

I set myself 5k knowing i have 6k really but when it comes to impulse buying im in a league of my own.... looking around it looks like 5k for a decent example isnt that common, so ill wait and see...

It's strange to think that's a 'classic'

It's still such a modern looking sports car. To be honest in my opinion the later models have added nothing to it's looks, especially from the infamous 'bugeye' models

I agree, the classic shape is the only nice looking scooby. Oh and its not a sports car ;)

You're kidding right? It looked out of date in 1995, never mind now, and as Bear correctly pointed out, it's not a sports car, it's a four-door family saloon.

IMNSHO, all models of Impreza are ugly, it's just some are uglier than others. The classic was so bland it almost stopped looking ugly, the bugeye was so ugly it could stop clocks, the blobeye looks ugly and lumpy, and the hawkeye looks ugly and stupid. They all certainly have a street presence, but that is NOT the same as good looks. And it's mostly down to all the extras: big spoiler, scoop etc. Look how silly all of them look in the GL/Sports form.

There are many reasons to buy an Impreza, but looks ain't one of them.

I couldnt agree more, shame performance isnt one of them either, well in WRX form anyway :p :D

Oh and as for the sports bit, they are hell of a lot more sporty than many of the 'sport' cars you see on the roads. I was shown a Cupra or something the other day that was a 'sport' model and it had a rampaging 1.4 engine under the hood :p

Being a sport model doesnt mean its a sports car though.

I know, I just find 'sport' a very generic term in cars. What is a sports car then, something like an Else for example?

An Impreza can do what an Elise can...

People call mx5's sports cars though. Or the newer mr2's.

If an mx5 is a sports car, then a scoob is a rally car. I certainly think its still got a bit of 'rally' in its genes. The classic ones at least. Funny. The new ones might look modern, but I dont actually view them as rally cars

Fair enough the old ones dont look modern. You could say they are dated even. But not out of date. Aged well, I would say. Simply just a little tad chav now is all.

imho a sports car is not necessarily somethign that's mega quick, it's something that's been designed as an all roudn package to be sports orientated.

i.e. Impreza not a "sports" car, it's got too many doors for a start, and has the aerodymanics of a brick.

MX5 is a sports car, has low centre of mavity, nice revvy engine, rwd (not a prerequisite for a sprots car but does go in it's favour) etc etc.

Yes the Impreza is a quick car, but it's a fast saloon, not a "sports" car :) And of course it's a rally car, it's the whole reason it exists :P But again wouldn't call the road cars rally cars as again they are actually practical.

But then on the other hand, rallying is a form of motorsport so is a car designed around a motorsport a sports car?
