Modifying front panel for airflow

I fitted a front 120mm fan to my new Aerocool QS-180 case, but the front panel is just flat, with no air flow through it (there is a gap at the bottom, which is how air is drawn in, but it's not ideal)

So I'm looking to whip out the dremel and modify the sucker!

Would you lot suggest simple holes in a circular pattern? Or perhaps "slots/slits" going horizontal or vertical?

Hmm, I didn't consider the obvious side panel as an option. Makes perfect sense I guess haha! I'll give that a whirl. Just hope there is room and if I get a proper CPU cooler, it won't block that.

Should I have the side fan suck air into the case or pull air out?

It'll be close to the rear exhaust fan, so if it sucks air in, it's just gonna get pushed right out without circulating?
