Modifying front panel for airflow

I fitted a front 120mm fan to my new Aerocool QS-180 case, but the front panel is just flat, with no air flow through it (there is a gap at the bottom, which is how air is drawn in, but it's not ideal)

So I'm looking to whip out the dremel and modify the sucker!

Would you lot suggest simple holes in a circular pattern? Or perhaps "slots/slits" going horizontal or vertical?

Horizontal slots would look more natural with the case design, as you already have a horizontal bar running across with the usb headers etc.

you'd be better off fitting the fan to the side panel as inlet first and see how the temps are.
Looking at the specs it only has a piddly 80mm as exhaust as std, and no front fan

Hmm, I didn't consider the obvious side panel as an option. Makes perfect sense I guess haha! I'll give that a whirl. Just hope there is room and if I get a proper CPU cooler, it won't block that.

If you are making any modifications at all I'd consider options for exhausting air out the top end of the case (including possibly reusing the front bays if you don't have an optical drive, etc. in there) - though I'm not a big fan of holes in the top as that makes it easier to accidentally spill stuff into the case but the case seems to be lacking more for exhausting top air than it does for getting it in.

Should I have the side fan suck air into the case or pull air out?

It'll be close to the rear exhaust fan, so if it sucks air in, it's just gonna get pushed right out without circulating?
