Modnation Racers

so far i think the game is pretty good, the load times are way too long tho and the ai seems to cheat a lot in single player
taking a hit from a weapon can easily drop you to last place and sometimes its impossible to catch up again, the so called shortcuts also seem mandatory in single player mode as the cpu always uses them and the only chance you have of winning is to use them too

well after playing it a lot over the weekend i can honestly say that i dont like the game :(
the creation was fun but playing the game wasnt, it just made me want to play mario kart instead

i just traded it in for gta chinatown wars, final fantasy tactics & motorstorm on psp

the gameplay wasnt especially bad but it just wasnt fun either

i made stripe from gremlins tho if anyone is interested :)

Seems fun after a couple hours play. Powerups are silly, cut scenes are daft and loading times ain't great...however, the racing is fun and the track building is a doddle!
Overall, glad I got it but it needs some patches to reduce load times for sure!
 
Is the full game better than the demo?

I tried the demo but it felt sluggish/low framerate and controls were awkward because of it, somehow it felt unresponsive.
 
Didn't play the demo so can't compare but no, doesn't feel sluggish and is beautifully smooth to play as far as I've seen.

Anyone seen the advert for Blur (or was it Split/Second?) on the telly? Hilarious parody of cutesy kart racers! LOL!
 
I've got the PSP version and quite like it. Although the thing that got to me initially was the drifting. Instead of just being a "drift enabler" (yes, like Mario Kart :p ) it just sends you off to one side. Bit odd but you can compensate for it.
