Modnation Racers

Demo is really fun, seriously considering getting this now. The track creator is really easy to use, but can also be very complex if you put the time in! I think this might be another LittleBigPlanet in the sense that it is all about community collaboration in creating tracks and stuff - much like Trackmania Nations. Fun little game!
 
I wasn't overkeen on the handling in the beta, but having played the demo I've put in an order.

I really like the feel of the karts now - very close to MK I think (although still a bit heavy on slide exits) and fantastic potential with the track editor.
 
Just been looking into this myself it looks very amusing! we love kart games (we being me and my mates) We usually end up playing MK/Sega racers or other similar games for the fun multi player elements.
 
At PSN prices it would be an instant buy but seeing it is one of the most expensive titles for sale here I will wait a while and buy it 2nd hand for half price or lower.
 
Had this come out at any of time I would have jumped on it, but with Red Dead Redemption also out tomorrow and me still trying to get the hang of Super Street Fighter IV and Mario Galaxy on the Wii there's just not enough hours in the day :(
 
I know they are supposed to be fixing the loading times, but does anyone know if it still throws you back to the modspot before asking if you want to race again, like it did in the beta? as that really annoyed me. Finish race->loading-> modspot,ask if you want to race again->loading->lobby-> loading-> Race :mad:

Rather than just ask you at the end of the race so it would just go loading->lobby->loading-> Race :).

Just a note if you dont know should you buy it 2nd hand and want to play it online you will need to pay an extra 7.99 for the code to allow you to do so. However if bought new doesnt matter =]

Well on the demo you can hit square to race again at the end, that would be quite annoying if in the full game you have to go back to the modspot before you could do this.
 
Once a XP race is doen it gives you option to instantly join another. Also please say im not the only one who sucks at this online? I keep getting whooped yet to win a race always last =(
 
Was expecting a lot from this, but the lack of reaction on OCUK leaves me disappointed as this place I trust :)

I know its a game my misses will love, but if its laggy and slow im not sure it will hold her attention span enough.
 
Mine arrived yesterday and I played it last night.

I'd say it's a mixed bag.. the game itself was quite fun although as mentioned in edge the coming out of a drift is a little floaty.. unfortunatly it seems to have some bad parts though, mainly the loading times which are bad, I watched the loading counter at 85% for almost a minute and it's these annoying loading times that takes the whole pace of the game away and makes it frustrating. There were also server issues last night with lag/unable to connect etc.

I'll have another play tonight, the actual races could be fun but it's all the other stuff could just ruin it.

Loading times are bad and the menu system is clunky too...
I'd rather use the options wheel for everything rather than the ModSpot (the hub that causes most of the irritation because you always have to go through it to get anywhere else). bad design. So much so that this game is getting traded today.
