Mods, is it possible to rename the pic threads that have been adopted? I created this as an example originally and they could do with being renamed to make them more generic.

The existing threads are:

Could the titles be renamed to:

[PIC_THREAD] People, Portraits, Street

[PIC_THREAD] Nature, Flora and Fauna

[PIC_THREAD] Landscapes, Architecture, Seascapes

[PIC_THREAD] Macro

[PIC_THREAD] Wildlife, Animals, Birds, Zoo

[PIC_THREAD] Weddings

[PIC_THREAD] Sports, Action, Transportation

PIC_THREAD is to make it easier to search for as currently "PIC THREAD" fails... Any other input welcomed. Many thanks.

Everyone agree on something, in here? Madness! :D

All threads stayed open with the big general thread as well. The themed threads are for these who didn't like using the old thread as it got too busy\contained stuff they weren't interested in.

It wasn't unanimous but it was a clear majority viewpoint.

What wasn't decided was whether the mega-thread would be closed or left to be. Most people didn't seem to care either-way so it was left open.

If it was closed then it would help people post in the themed threads but personal I don't mind a Misc thread for random snapshots.
 
Rojin, with these new thread titel I am somewhat confused between the following categories:

PIC_THREAD] Nature, Flora and Fauna
[PIC_THREAD] Macro
[PIC_THREAD] Wildlife, Animals, Birds, Zoo

to me, Nature is a general term for landscape, wildlife and macro work of flowers/insects.
Do photos of flowers go in the macro thread of the nature thread?
Like wise fauna == wildlife so what thread is the appropriate.

I don't have a strong opinion but I would have preferred something along the lines of:
[Wildlife] actual wildlife, no zoo/pets (I really don't want to see depressing pictures of captivated animals behind bars, and pets just aren't the same as widlife).
[Domestic Animals] zoo, pet, farm animals
[Nature Macro] insects and flowers (Maybe could be expanded to all macro).
[landscape] natural landscape/seascapes.
Alternatively a nature and landscape parent category containing the above 2.

[Architecture & Urban] buildings, design, urban and cityscape
[Still-life] objects and macros, arranged photos and displays.

I think its a good idea. That way the main thread will be clear for questions, rumors etc

Not a an of stickied threads, they become invisible. When one of these pops to the top of the forum I know there's something new to look at, when stickied I can't easily tell.
