Modular PSU?

A modular PSU allows you to unplug cables from the PSU that you don't need/use so there is less cable clutter in your case.

Modular as mentioned above mean the cables are not pre-attached to the psu (although on some the main cables are attached)
Modular is better for cable management and a cleaner case for better airflow.

it looks like this :D

I have a corsair 750w which is NOT modular.

Top end psu, very quiet etc etc...........but cable management in my antec300 with 5 hard drives is a NIGHTMARE.

If you have a non modular psu then you need a fairly large case for any sort of cable management.
The downside of modular psu's is that they cost more.

that sucks.!, to be honest if you take your time with the cables theres no real difference, the modular just makes it a bit easier.

:)

To an extent its true, but really depends on the psu and case. For example, I've had an Enermax 460w non-modular in my coolermaster cavalier 3 case for a while. There were too many cables and tying them neatly was tricky and not as neat as the modular psu I have now (in the same case).
I guess in a larger case it matters less.
