MOH: Airborne "best World War II game to date"

Trouble is, what's good about defending the beaches? You sit on a turret mowing people down for an hour before the game either tells you to retreat or you die? :p

Stuff like participating in the original invasion of France etc. would be good, being part of blitzkrieg tactics etc.

lol. I had thought of that but I dont know, im sure someone at Infinity Ward could think of something, while still staying true to actual events.

I get tired of space fps but never bother to mention it. WW2 fps's have many battles left to show and hope in time more will be made to include these.

Way too many WW2 games. Too many poor US impersionations of British troops. Same old, same old.

I want to see a decent Vietnam game. The last decent Vietnam based game was the DOS game Seal Team for the PC. Since Seal Team there has been a few attempts at releasing a new Vietnam title but, in my opinion, these have been poor.

MOH:AA was brilliant. I still play it till this day. I just hope Airborne can take some of that success because I do love the WWII genre, CoD never quite did it for me.

space fps are slightly more varied in their locations and enemies though. i mean the imagination is the limit of the enemies and worlds you can have in a futuristic FPS. World War 2 shooters are slightly more restricted.

The "Vietcong" games on PC were quite good, was a pretty good stab at re-creating jungle fightin imo, and was pretty interesting trap spotting whilst playing drunk :D

Scort.

i thought MOH airbourne was terrible on the same level as hour of victory. The things i dont like about moh airbourne is the way the weapons and spare ammo appear on the ground, needing 5 shots to kill one german.COD3 i thought was a much better game, and i think brothers in arms hells highway will be better then both of them.

Are you basing this on the demo?

After playing the demo its obvious its a lot better than cod3 and a few of the previous moh games, but thats quite a bold statement (and one I think BIA will have something to say about) but it does have one really positive point which a certain other highly rated fps game seems to lack - "With an excellent mission-rating system in place, it's also one of the few games that gives you an incentive to go back and do better. If only more shooters had such in-built replayability."

I was expecting big things from Brothers in Arms originally. Possibly the worst game I've ever played. Got the full tin limited edition, played it for 20 minutes, uninstalled.

I also enjoy shooting Germans hence I like the MOH series.
I have nothing against German people (Oh okay so I was never a Shumacer fan).

Perhaps there is something bitter and twisted about me :D

i really enjoyed the demo.. even the small factor of the controls were very well refined and you can walk / jump on or over everythign should make some great multiplayer mahem.. Its on my list just not on the top :)

to be fair, it takes the germans about 5-6 good shots to kill you too ;)

Im sure if i was shot in a non vital area 5 times i would still be alive....probably die very soon from blood loss etc but i would still be alive.
I cant even recall an enemy that took 5 shots to kill(and i have played through the demo over 10 times on med/hard), maybe you didnt hit the enemy in the first place as i find even with the iron sights on i cant get a headshot with a smg unless im lucky, theyre just so unnaccurate at even moderate ranges.

Try firing against a wall about 10 m away with the unupgraded thompson even with sights it has poor accuracy
