I have learnt a very valuable lesson this evening.

Usually I decide whether or not I am going to buy a game by the feedback and reviews it may receive. Therefore I didn't bother with the new MOH until this evening when some kind soul posted discount codes for the EA store.

I am pretty annoyed at myself and as mentioned, have learned a lesson. The lesson is, don't always trust reviews.

I have only played the first mission on MOH but am absolutely loving it. The graphics are pretty good, the storey is engrossing so far, the voice acting is spot on and a menial point but the game is very simple to operate, including the menus.

I pre-ordered COD and have been playing it over the past couple days. Whilst really enjoying the SP campaign, I found the menu awkward, the game play lumpy and sometimes there is so much going on, I don't know where to look.

To be honest, after playing both games, id would say MOH in this instance is leaps and bounds better than COD. Something I never though id say, being a massive fan of the COD franchise.

What do you lads think, for and against ?

Well i also pre-ordered BO and played the beta for MOH and i wish i had pre-ordered MOH instead. Maybe it was just the initial stuttering problems that put me off the MP.

I can only speak of the multiplayer side of these games, but I much prefer MOH's take, its a grim depiction of war's harsh brutality.

By getting killed as soon as you spawn from guns with 0 recoil, on tiny maps with no variety? You're right, it is grim.

I have both, and tbh i prefer moh, though neither are perfect, i dont really play the sp campaigns on either, from an online point i prefer moh, though neither compare to bad company 2.

moh sp is crap its over before it begins and its very basic like a game from 10 years ago, i dont think the game even has a physics engine at all because pretty much nothing can be interacted with...

I have BFBC2, and MOH and both BFBC2 and MOH both played very well from the day I got both games. COD is crap sorry I had to say it. Compared to the other two games it is the runt of the litter ans should have its neck pulled to put it out of its misery. Having said that I find myself drawn to it, their maybe some life left in it yet. But it has to be made playble, the lag the stuttering these issues need fixed pronto.

MOH mp is great because it's closer to what a lot of us consider classic shooters. COD is bloated with choice, which just tends to end in a mess (Although BO is significantly better than MW2 in this regard I find), whereas MOH strips it down to the basics.

For me MOH is so far, marginally better than BO's. Neither are really worth writing home about though. I miss the days when you weren't forced through a game at lightning speed as if you were watching a movie.

I have both. MoH works, BO doesn't (lag/stutter/hitching still).
MoH is streets ahead in my opinion. The only thing letting it down is lack of maps for the key gamemodes.

At this moment I regret buying BO, it's still unplayable for me and I can't sell it on! I'm sure BF:BC2 vip map pack 7 will be out soon, then the vietnam exp (I heard 30th Dec).

In short I have been scammed 2 years run running, shame on me.

MoH is great, and I think the graphics are better on MP than those of COD. However COD has more variety with perks and guns etc.

Overall, I think MoH is marginally better.

I went for MOH because the MP is by Dice, I wasnt to fussed on the SP, it was ok, could have been better but the MP is great now that its been patched.

As for COD i'm not even bothering with it

I agree about the CoD menus. Strangely a bad/slow/annoying menu makes such a difference to me (maybe I'm wierd!).

MOH feels more polished imo in multiplayer and has a more CS feel to it. COD:BO feels more consoley and arcadey, though that isn't necessarily a bad thing. COD is easier to just jump into and start having fun, though if you have the patience moh feels more rewarding when you get a kill.

Also those stupid lag spikes in COD really don't help its case! :(
