Mole Removal

And as I already stated, moles on faces do tend to heal better because of the amount of blood running round your head. Mine on my face are barely noticeable as well, it also depends on the surgeon doing it.

The ones on my neck, back and arm haven't healed well because they weren't done by plastic surgeons they therefore don't tidy them up so well.

Are we done now because frankly i'm bored with squabbling about technicalities?

Exactly, your case cannot be applied to everyone. I will got to the same surgeon as my father.

Unless the mole was very large would it not just be a simple task of removing it yourself, or if you feel the absoloute need, go to your GP? All you need is a knife and a piece of clean cloth or something to place on the wound. That plus pressure and about 15-30 mins of your time will have you sorted.

Scars are much more preferable to look at than moles imo.

Yes but if you cut it wrong you can end up with a huge scar. It is best to leave it to the experts.

Scars on faces do tend to heal better, I had three taken off my face and the scars from that are barely noticeable, I can assure you though that other parts of the body will scar more, happy to take a pic of my scar (7 months after it was removed) to show you how big/red it still is.
:)

I can confirm face scar's are better at healing, got a 2" one on my forehead which is not very noticable unless you get close up (not recommended :p )

I've got a scar like that on my knee from football. A bit longer and more raised though. Hate it. :(

EDIT: Oh, and while I'm here, I have quite a raised mole on my back. I've never actually had it checked out.

You don't need to have them checked as such unless they start causing you problems.

As its on your back, get someone to look at it for you, if it has more than one colour to it, or any patch's on it of a different colour than the rest of it, or if its itching/bleeding then it might be worth getting it looked at. Also if it is an irregular shape, or bigger than 5mm.

One sign of a healthy mole is if it has hair growing out of it, if it has hair growing out of it, but has any of the things I have mentioned above, go and get it checked, and ask someone to look at it once every few months (as you can't examine it yourself)

Hope that helps :)

I had one removed from my head a few years back, NHS job didnt hurt at all but smelt like pork when they cauterized it.

Thing is, its back again.

I removed one myself last week, had one on my chest and after an energetic scratching session noticed blood.....and a mole in my shirt.

I would go and get the one thats come back checked, seriously just to put your mind at rest. Did they take it off because they were concerned about it?

I had a small one above my lip on the right side, it was pretty small, but it kept nipping it while shaving, so I went to my dr and he got me an appointmet with him, he had some sort of electric needel and he just touched it and it burnt off. It took him about 3 minutes because he did and good job and zapped it quite a lot to stop it re-growing.
He did give me some sort of bo-tox to stop any pain, so I didn't feel anything, nor could I drink or talk for the next few hours.
It was free, I guess he did something on the nhs or something.
Tiny white circle, about a quater the size of the mole, and that was only maybe 2-3mm.
Invisible unless I point it out and somebody looks right up close.

OMG!!!!! Are we related as I have an identical spot?!!!! The kids have always called it my bindi spot :D

I had a similar (more racist) name called about mine. Glad I got rid of it if only to stop the teasing.

Well I finally took the plunge and had 7 moles removed 2 weeks ago today and I can so far say I am very impressed with the results. I had 3 taken off of my face, 1 huge one off my shoulder and 3 off of my stomach. The plastic surgeon just cut them off flush with the skin and cauterised the wound. So far I have been left with little scabs which have now fallen off. I am really pleased with the results. The surgeon said the marks will fade over time.

Everyone seems to be going on about the growth type moles some people get on their bodies. I was wondering, is there any procedure to get rid of pigmentation moles (the flat brown circles) That are common amongst white folk? Also any idea on a price? I want my back to be pure white, not dotted with the occasional odd brown spot. I just don't like it.
