Monaco Grand Prix 2013, Monte Carlo - Race 6/19

Simple solution to this, just bring back the mid-season test and add a day on for forced running of unmarked Pirelli tyres, to be done only by reserve/junior drivers only.

Yeah I gather that from before, it seems odd that Pirelli did ask all the teams yet some have either not got the message or ignored it and now kicking up a fuss. If Pirelli can demonstrate they contacted them all, the other teams have nothing to complain about - although there is a query over them using the 2013 car?

Helmut Marko, Red Bull's special consultant, claimed Mercedes could have gained a one second per lap advantage by testing for three days between the two races. He said: "We are very unhappy. When we test for three days, we go a second faster – that's what Adrian Newey [Red Bull's designer] says. It definitely helped them – you can see that they had no tyre problems today. That's no accident."

So much wrong in that quote I don't know where to begin.

It sounds like he is taking time to adjust to the car, being used to the Mclaren for so long.

definetly lewis has been doing really well, much better than I think anyone would have expected.

Looking back at the predictions, I think a few of us were thinking he would get a couple of wins this year which could still be on course.

Show me proof of quantifiable gains.

They didn't know what the tyres were they were testing. Pirelli said "Do this using these tyres" and they did. My guess - big fine, no points.

Exactly, they don't know what they were testing so can't see what they gained. They already changed the rules about not being able to run new parts on filming days, so assume the same for tyre days.

We all know that Hamilton has been struggling with the brakes on the Merc, yes? So by letting him do 500km of driving using said Merc to develop his driving style.... Well that is giving him and Merc an advantage.

Whatever else is said, you can't deny that fact.

That would be the case with the older car too though? So seeing as all teams had the chance (which Ferrari took), that's a moot point. Or has it been confirmed that current race drivers weren't allowed?
