Ah OK makes sense, thanks. Either way not a deal breaker for me I think I would be fine with the regular lights

I don't notice much difference between the xenons in my wife's car and the regular lights in mine.

Whether that's because the xenons aren't great or the regular lights are better than usual I can't say (although I do have Phillips extreme vision bulbs in mine).

Yeah - I had xenons in my 2009 ST-3 focus which I imagine are similar units to the mondeos and they seemed to be quite good.

THe normal Mondeos have projector lamps for the halogens, so that gives a nice even spead of light - much better than reflector based units.

Hi all
Went to see this sandicliffe one today. Nice car, certainly feels a step on from focus etc in terms of build quality & materials. Drives like a much smaller car. Gearbox is OK, slight thump in some gears.

Are powershift gearbox oil changes part of regular servicing routine ie would they be done at main dealer with the regular services?

I'm pretty sure the powershift boxes are meant to have their oil changed every 3 years or 36k miles. If it was serviced at a Ford dealer or with a Ford specialist I would expect that to be carried out as part of regular servicing. If it was getting serviced at an indy then I imagine you might need to request that it be done as a separate thing.

Thanks - I will confirm this has been done with the dealership or get them to do it for me ideally in the price.
Going to think over it tonight. Will 95% of the time be just me in the car so it is a big old bus for just me but I will be commuting 400 miles/week from a driveway to car park so no huge biggie. I did like the car though.

The father in law has a 2011 Titanium 2.0 TDCi and it's hateful, can't stand driving it. The gearbox can't decide what gear it wants to be in and feels like it takes a week to respond to sudden speed changes.

That does not correlate to my experience of the powershift gearbox across four MK 4/4.5 Mondeos. Maybe it's faulty?

Hi guys collected today. Enjoying so far
One annoying thing I can't seem to resolve
Cruise control - is there any way to see what speed you have it set at? Also what mph increment to they go up in?

Thanks

Hmm, on mine when I enable cruise control, the left side of the Convers display would say cruise control enabled and then when I press the + or - button it would set it to the current speed and display it. The + and - buttons would then put the speed up or down by 1mph at a time. The display was like this (ignore the Phil Collins :D):

WTF yeah mine doesn't have the speed at the bottom. Did yours have adaptive cruise?

Nope just standard cruise. Perhaps mine just had a newer version of Convers+. Might be worth finding out about getting it upgraded - dealer should do it for you but not sure what kind of cost you'd be looking at.

Cheers. I have checked my convers+ it is the NVM target ROM 1304

Going to run the car a few weeks before I start ******* about with the electronics then I'll look into upgrading that. Good to know it is possible though as it's quite crappy without! :D

Just checked my wife's S-Max out as the S-Max and Mondeo have identical clusters. That car has Convers+ too and the cruise control display works just like it did on my Mondeo. It's on version 1411 so obviously newer than yours so hopefully just an upgrade will sort it out.

Ah nice one thanks for that. Yeah I will look into updating it
Do you by any chance get a digital speed readout on those updated ones as well?

Not got the digital speedo on mine. I think that's a part of ConversMod which might be worth looking in to. You'll get a custom software based on the latest version which enables a few things. Base price is €60 so worst case scenario is you pay that and buy a modified ELM327 cable from Ebay for around £10. There's a few optional extras you pay for on top of the base €60, one of which is digital speedo.

I never got round to putting it on on mine since the main benefit for me would've been visual PDC, but it may be worthwhile to get the updated software as well as a few new features. You can get it here: https://www.conversmod.de/index.php?page=conversmod

Yeah convers mod is looking quite good. Pricey though, I'd like to have the dpf option but that's a whole other ball park. I luckily have an elm cable from my focus ST so would use that. Thanks for the link
