mondeo st problems

well yeah probably ill sort that out afterwards ive got this flywheel, clutch or whatever it is yet, who knows we will have to wait and see til i get someone to look at it!

If you've got a grand to a grand and a half... :p

I struggle to imagine how Ford didn't pick the problem up on the test bed. :(

Dont be tempted to do half a job - if the flywheel is shot then its a false economy to not replace the clutch while its all apart. If the clutch is shot, chances are the flywheel is on the way and was the cause of the failure

Same reason most common car problems slip through I guess... A mate has a pug 2.2HDi and has constant issues with the particulate filter for example - its not just fords..

Should have loosened one of the injectors and cranked it - thats what I had to do!

Nice simple engines, never went wrong...it was the rest of the car that was the problem :D

I went through a cambelt, tensioner and set of valves 2 days into ownership, and another £1,000 in the year I had it.

Spend pretty much sod all on my shed Rovers.

I dont think there's much in it reliability wise between older fords and rovers - you've obviously been lucky with the latter though.

Cambelt failure is one thing you dont need to worry about on the tdci though - chain cam

Lucky sod :p

Finally get rid of the diesel, the bank balance allows a 200bhp beast.

Still, I miss the way the Fiesta could throw a complete curveball whenever it felt the need :o

Yes I saw you posts about it - you need a new sig though...

My old mondeo was very good at throwing a curveball too - it's favourite game was to throw wiper blades into hedgerows
