Mondeo's

So the Ghia x/zetec are the best to go for? I have been looking on autotrader and for around £2500 i can get a 2000 mondeo with about 60k on the clock

Thats pretty cheap imo (although i am a newby)

Just, im 18, with NCB, i dont even want to think what the insurance is :o

(im talking about getting one in a few month time once im settled in the RAF)

sorry i wrote a long post that seems to have been lost in the system :o

Folr RSAP kits, they are as easy to find as the colour of the car, ie silver is the easiest as it's the most common colour. They came on the Zetec-S with left exit exhaust, and ST24 with right, and the st24 is far more common. You'd have to swap the exhaust over to the right, but that's not a problem really quite easy to do due to the layout of the exhaust.

Mileage, 60k is positively low mileage and you'd be paying a bit of premium to get that. IMO definitely get a 2000 or later model, the interior revision makes it a much nicer place to be with better materials, colours and climate control instead of just aircon.

My bumpers and side skirts came in red (probably radiant red or something similar) even though they came from two different people!

Luckily my Si had the exhaust on the right, so didn't cause any problems with the bumper. Two silencers at the back as opposed to one really. Only thing I need to do is get a trim or something for the exhaust as it looks a bit strange with just the stub (I cut the downswept part off) of a standard exhaust behind the hole in the bumper! :o :D I don't really want to get a new exhaust and an ST24 backbox is silly money. Wouldn't fit anyway, wrong size of exhaust pipe!

Go to your local motor factors and buy a chrome tip, about 6 quid :p The previous owner of mine seems to have done that to mine.
