Got a single 980ti running a Rog Swift 1440p at full settings on latest games without issue

I can't recommend this enough. I'm gaming at 1440p on a 60hz panel and there is plenty of grunt left if I was to upgrade to a quicker unit. The games I play with v-sync see no frame drops whatsoever...so yeah, single 980Ti for a 1440p panel

No sorry! You will not get a decent frame rate from a single GPU @ 4k. 2x980Ti would be the min in all honesty.

1 980 TI can do 4K but very low fr and that.
2 980 TI's can max out a single 4K monitor with all settings on 99.9% of any games etc!

With this build, i would suggest buying cheap cards for now, and then buy the NEW ones in a few months.
Would be a good way to save costs. unless you dont mind loosing 40% of the cards value in 6 months
