Money no issue type rig

Thanks Snips, gets me started. Any reason Gigabyte over Asus? And what brand is the PSU (Flower?) Never heard of them, been away too long. I have a Corsair 850w modular job. Would more power be needed for SLi?

Gigabyte is UK RMA so if anything goes wrong it's a quicker turnaround. Super flower are considered one of the best PSU's. For SLI if you go down that route, I would suggest a 1200W PSU which may be considered overkill but it's the one component not to scrimp on imo.

OK thanks chaps. RMA is less of an issue for me as I live in Switzerland. If something breaks I buy a new one. I will have a ponder and come back with a more precise list for you chaps to check

Mmmm, this certainly looks the deal. Like that Phanteks case in both of the above posts. No one has specced a sound card, any reason?

TBH I've never bothered with a sound card.

Unless you're really into spot on sound, or have a 5.1+ speaker setup, I personally don't see the point.

On board sound is good enough for me :D

You will want 2 x 980 ti's if you go with a 4K panel for the best frame rates.

As mentioned above, onboard audio is good these days, so you don't really need a dedicated sound card.

Thanks Lee et al. Thinking to go SLi, ned to make sure the case will have enough space. Cannot have a full tower as will not fit under my desk. Will post my proposed spec shortly.

As Lee says, for the best frame rates 2 x 980TI's would be best.
I have a 4k screen but only a 780, and I have to game mostly on 1440p (I'm waiting for Pascal before changing my GPU :D)
If you then go SLI, a custom watercooled loop would be better, or you'd have to have 2 air cooled GPU's for now. You probably couldn't fit 2 pre assembled watercooled GPU's in one case with a CPU watercooler as well.

1440p 144/165hz will still require 2 980Ti's for max settings :D. Its actually harder to run and maintain than 4k at 60hz.

Other than that looks good!, just make sure to use up as much rad space as you can get as the cards can get hot.

You don't need to match the monitors refresh rate though. A single 980 ti will give you solid frame rates at 1440p.

As already stated - not true

Got a single 980ti running a Rog Swift 1440p at full settings on latest games without issue

If you want to have a single card solution for 4K, you're likely looking at pascal, next year. That's quite a jump up from 980ti. The titan is just a 980ti with more memory (or rather the 980ti is a titan with less :D ).

Any hints on what you do as a job hahaha ;) busy choosing my career path and you seem to have what i want, plenty of money :D

I was an IT monkey in The City. Then I inherited daddies money. Now I deal in commodities and invest in Private Equity type business turn-arounds.

Will go for 2 Ti980's. Calling OCuK later to see if they will build my spec
