Hey folks.

Can anyone recommend a brilliant gaming monitor as the above sizes. Ill be sticking with 2560x1080 since I wasnt that blown away with 4k. Im thinking of giving 21:9 a go too

Budget 500 pounds, Of course I would love lower

Haven't seen that BenQ monitor before but it looks very nice for £500! It's interesting to see a 32" 1440p monitor which would likely be a good option for anyone who wants larger than 27" or who's eyesight isn't up to using windows at native res on a 27" 1440p monitor. It's got me measuring my desk to see how it would compare with my current dual monitor setup and the 34" 21:9 monitor I was planning on getting.

Speakiing of which if you're willing to wait a bit longer and stretch your budget slightly AOC should have a 34" 21:9 monitor out for around £600 in a couple of months time.

Dell UltraSharp U2913WM is a good monitor but I can't compare to the Asus as I've no experience of that model.

Good colours, most are overclockable to between 75 and 90Hz, doesn't quite keep up with proper gaming panels for tracking objection in motion but stabilises well on fast scene changes i.e. if you pull a quick 180 degree view change in a game. In gaming mode with some post processing features disabled you can get input lag down to about 13ms - supposedly versions with the newer panel revision are even better than that. Decent set of features and input options.

The dell has very high input lag so not ideal for FPS gaming. But apart from that, it would be my choice, great customer service, stand, calibration out of the box etc.

Not a fan of asus due to poor customer service + it isn't worth the extra £100 over LG's 29" screen imo.

I would look at the 29um65/29ub65 too.

^^ ~25ms out the box but in gaming mode with a couple of other features disabled and 75Hz I got it down below 16.667ms on mine - guessing at about 13ms but don't have the tools to measure it to that precision. Which is acceptable, not great but reasonable enough. The LG version does seem worth looking at also.

No real change to image quality, there is a little bit of loss of contrast. IIRC most of the features disabled only really make a difference when comparing video playback.

Yup you will be dealing with ocuk within the first 28 days.

Although lately it seems like ocuk/lg are rejecting RMA's, however, gibbo has said that he has informed LG about the issues and are hoping that they will make things a bit easier.

Saying that, the last 6 or so people who have bought the 29" LG monitors haven't had any issues with bleed etc.
