My littlen has just inherited his older brothers old pc. It's an oldish one but good for his needs. Mostly Fortnite , YouTube and googling. So it's not under that much stress. My question is, as soon as he starts a game the fans ramp up pretty high and it's noisy and makes his little room hot. The PC temps are fine. Around 40' - 50'. So I don't think they need to be going so fast. Is there a software that can be used to control them as at the moment it seems it's all or nothing. I'll put it's specs below if it helps.

Corsair obsidian 350D case
i5 4670k
Gigabyte G1 sniper motherboard
Gtx 770 card
It seems to have a Corsair H80i AiO on the CPU to exhaust.
1 X 140mm fan on front and 2x 140mm fans on top.

Thanks

Speedfan for free or for an easier software try Argus monitor but it will need a one off payment.

Got an 4670k rig @ 4.4 and fans only ramp up above 55c for cpu and gpu so runs silent most of the time.

Have you given it a clean? remove dust and what not? it may be going all out to maintain those temps
Hi. I must admit it's a bit dusty in there. I'll get it cleaned out see if it helps.

I downloaded The Nzxt Cam software just to check what was going on. It's got 3 case fans and the AiO on the CPU but the software only showed 1 fan. I don't know which fan it was monitoring but it showed it was maxed out at 2500rpm all the time and there was no option to control it. CPU temp was 39'c.. On the GPU which I now know is the one I hear ramp up. That went from 1200rpm to 2200rpm about 2 mins after starting fornite. GPU temps went from 45'c to 73'c. So as the above post I'm going to give it a clean. See if that helps. But again there was no way to control the speeds..

Do all case ) AiO fans usually adjust with temp of could they just have 1 speed.

Can use Afterburner to control GPU fan speed. With the accompanying Rivatuner you could also lock fps to 60 which might help the card not get so hot as well (as long as his monitor is 60Hz and he doesn't know much about latency yet). This can also be done within Fortnite settings. You can also try undervolting the GTX 770 through Afterburner to make it a bit less hot.

Do you know what CPU cooler is in there, is it overclocked?

also has the GPU got 1 fan or 2?

Most will adjust with temps, providing they are plugged into the correct headers on the motherboard.
The motherboard will have a fan header called CPU_FAN which you need to use, this will increase fan rpm based on the CPU temps

. The CPU cooler is a Corsair H80i Its a single fan AiO and it's the only exhaust. The GPU has 2 fans.

I've not overclocked anything. But it might of been done when it was built all the years ago. It says i5 4670k 3.40Ghz @ 4.50Ghz ivybridge CPU

Ok, i have the same CPU cooler, i think the fans plug into the cpu block and then the block plugs into the motherboard, you can then set 3 different presets on the block? low medium and high? I keep mine on medium.

I would unmount the radiator and fans first and give them a good clean, compressed air and a paint brush are great for cleaning heatsinks, mount them back on and give it a go.

Regarding the GPU, remove from the case and give it a blast with compressed air, just be careful not to blow dust inside where it can get trapped and be careful when handling it, try not to touch the PCB too much.
