Ok so ive tried many of these products that claim to be "monitor cleaner" however they all seem to leave marks and do not clean properly

what do you guys use to clean your LCD displays??

even tried isopropyl alcohol but apparently thats a big no-no

Muck off. As with any "wet" solution though, its a pain as it looks like you have it spot on but a good ray of sunlight will show you just pushed the dirt around and more buffering is needed!

I've had problems with those wet LCD wipes too but tried them again.

This time I cleaned my screen when it was fully off and cold (basically clean it first thing before you use your computer). I was using just one wipe before but as the sheet is thin my fingers would just drag the dirt around haha. This time I a pulled a bunch of wipes off to stop finger impressions and it actually worked perfectly. I let the screen dry a bit and then I went back over with a Microfibre cloth. My screen looked new again!

Can't wait for the cringes in response to this but I use water with a few drops of white spirit in it and a glasses cleaning cloth! :)

Definite cringe for that, i wouldnt dare use white spirit on a monitor! lol

anyway i guess i will buy some more wipes and try them in bunches like sreeve said, trouble i have with them though is like i said they dry up so if you buy a tub of 100 you only use 20-30 because the rest dried out

i tried tap water too but because it contains chlorine its not very good for the screen and could potentially take the layer of anti-glare off - if just using water then i would recommend distilled water to avoid the damage..

I just breathe on it to "mist" it, then wipe with microfiber cloth - tend to work the best.

For very stubborn dirt, high purity isopropanol - but even high purity will leave some residue, so do above to remove.

My Samsung manual just says to use water on the microfibre cloth supplied, so I do. Obviously just make sure that the cloth is only slightly damp, certainly no where near the amount where drops would run down the screen.

In the past I've also tried a coated lens cleaner for spectacles (had it on hand) but ultimately found no difference between that and water.

tried searching for this "Muck off" but all i can find is stuff for bikes..
any chance of a link to where i can get some?

They do a lot of bike and car stuff as well. The bay will get you there if you search "muc off screen cleaner" ;)

ah yes i have found it now, i was specifically looking for "muck off" which is why i didnt find anything haha

ordered the kit that comes with a cloth too - thanks gregg
