Hi guys, I carried my monitor from a friends house which is the NEC MultiSync® LCD20WGX2 Pro.

I must have banged it or something as at the very top of the screen its darker. It's not in a straight line it looks as if there is a black liquid behind the screen that has seeped down slightly then stopped. I can't think of how else to word it really, could banging the monitor cause this and what is it?

Any ideas whether it could be repaired?

i remember a thread some time ago on a forum where someone with a monitor problem was asked that very same question and they uploaded a screenshot of there desktop lmao

I'd suggest that you've damaged the LCD panel.

If you've ever smashed a phone screen, it's almost identical to what you describe, though, the black "liquid" usually surrounds visible cracks.

Thanks for the replies. Luckily I rang NEC and the monitor is just within it's warranty and they are sending me a replacement which I will receive tomorrow.

That's what you call good service :D
