I bought a monitor (LG L227WT, 22") from OCUK about 1.5 years ago. It has recently developed a defect near the center of the screen:

It is visible on all but the darkest colours (can see it when playing games).

Although it's not very big I still find it to be extremely irritating. Any idea what it is? I suppose LG won't do anything about it..

Yeah very odd shape for a defect... almost perfectly like a cursor... Must be really annoying when you mistake it for your real cursor....

Try massaging the spot where the problem is. It might be a stick pixel(s) rather then dead pixel(s). :)

It isn't on the surface, because I already tried cleaning it vigorously with LCD screen cleaner & cloth with no improvement. I know it looks minscule in the picture, but that's partly because I use the extra large Win 7 cursor, and partly because it is quite small. But it being in the center of the screen and being visible against most colours means I am always seeing it. To my knowledge it is neither a stuck nor dead pixel. Is there such a thing as a faded pixel?
