Hi
I know it's not a lot for a monitor but is there any decent 27" monitors in the £100 to £200 price range?
I am going to get a new pc tower built and do not have any details on the system yet.
Tough to beat right now, just hold in mind the "HDR" on the model is marketing more than anything else and I'd recommend disabling it via the O/S, you're not getting good HDR on a monitor outside of OLED or the very rare FALD based displays for a lot more money.
Anything else in the price range that I can see will be a VA panel, they almost always suffer from ghosting issues which once seen are difficult to ignore. That said, some people do prefer them for the black depths and lesser light bleed that IPS panels tend to suffer.
Give this a read to get a grasp of what each panel type offers and choose accordingly:
Modern monitors either contain an OLED panel or an LED-backlit LCD panel, with the latter being commonly known as an LED display. Both OLEDs and LEDs have different panel types, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
Aye, problem is they're either VA or 1080P instead of 1440P. The majority of IPS 1440P panels in the price range are more budget orientated with 100hz refresh rates etc.
The AoC is a bit of a steal at that price, funnily enough it was actually around £90 a couple of months back, was half tempted to grab one myself as a secondary display.
The HDR is going to be plap as it is for every other monitor in the price range, but it's running a rapid IPS at 180hz with adaptive sync.
