Monitor for PC & PS4

Hi,
I'm looking for a decent 28 - 32" monitor that I can use my desktop PC with as well as a new PS4 over HDMI.
Would even consider 4k monitors if the PS4 is compatible with them?
I know the PS4 only outputs at 1920x1080 so is this a problem if the monitor res is much higher?
Any recommendations as there are a ton of monitors out there and I haven't been in the market for one for a long time!

Hi bigmac, I notice the BenQ is 1920x1080 native. I'd want a higher resolution than that and really wondering if theres a monitor out there that produces a good 1920x1080 upscaled image.
 
Have you got one snips? Looking for feedback from someone who also console games off their PC monitor. I'll check out the 32" thanks.
 
Yes, if I get a higher res monitor it will basically scale to the PS4 res. Problem with that is some monitors are better at doing this than others. My current second monitor is pretty crappy at it, I was looking at upgrading to a second 28-32" anyway so wondered if anyone had any experience with consoles on their monitors. I cant buy a 1920x1080 monitor as its just too low for my day to day work.

That BenQ has the same pixel pitch as a 1920*1080 due to its size.

If it wasn't for limited space on my desk, I'd have it!
 
The asus 4k monitor has good scaling judging by the review on prad.de, i own the samsung 4k one myself and pc games at 1080p don't look that great compared to a 1080p monitor. I had an iiyama 27" 1440p IPS and that did a great job with PS4. Prad.de monitor reviews under the interpolation section of the review give you a decent idea of how crisp scaling might be.
 
I don't know whether to make a thread or just post in this one, I don't want to hijack it.

I am in the same position as OP, basically the wife wants to use the TV more meaning I cannot play PS4 when she is using it.

My current LCD is a NEC 20WGX2 Pro (IPS) but it's on it's last legs, the power button broke a few years back and it's got some scratches on the screen (not that noticeable) from a tumble it took by accident. It doesn't have HDMI in otherwise I would use that for PS4 and not need a new monitor.

Looking for a more gaming orientated monitor (very low input lagg and good response times), 24" or thereabouts. 1920 x 1080P or thereabouts. Must have HDMI in, current GPU in PC is 750 Ti Black edition. Budget is £150-£250 for the screen nothing over £300 please.

this seems to get a lot of recommendations for gaming but you seem to be looking for a much bigger screen.

a 32 inch screen is basically a TV your looking at tbh and tv's aren't great for PC use.

i think you should be looking at a 27-28" screen at the most.

ps4 supports 4K but there isn't anything atm which uses it and I doubt there will be apart from blu ray movies.

if you use your ps4 more than pc then i would get a decent TV, if you use PC more then a 27-28" screen

Prad are going to have the review of the iiyama 4k by the end of the month. They have already reviewed the asus 4k which looks great. I would wait and see just to make sure input lag and scaling is as good.
The asus 4k has extremely low input lag even at 1080p when using a PS4 etc, like most really fast 1080p monitors. i know it costs a bit more but it might be worth it, only time will tell.
