I like the look of these two
VP2780-4K OR BenQ SW2700PT 27" Color Accurate Monitor for Photography

how many issues will i have with the 4k monitor when using editing programs and the sizing i know these are not the best ie eizo and nec but a least they offer near 100% srgb and are 10 bit monitors so hopefully i can match my images to print ,although my color munki is not supported by the viewsonic for profiling and the benq is a couple of hundred cheaper ?

I don't foresee any issues with 4k provided the PC has sufficient graphics to drive it. However, before you look at 10bit displays, what software are you editing with as not all packages support them - for example I don't believe Lightroom does.

Regards the Colormunki, presumably you should still be able to calibrate via their software and create a profile that way?

Have you got a Firepro or Quadro card to power it? Most consumer grade cards won't output in 10bit and Windows doesn't natively support it so it'll only display 10bit colour with specific software.

Unless you're doing printing that requires incredibly high levels of accuracy then a properly calibrated display with a good, custom print profile should be fine.

A decent Dell monitor would do you well, they've got excellent QC and customer support too.

No i do not own a quadro card only a 970 Nvidia most of my software is adobe based i have years free use of adobe cc and i own edius 8 workshop as well as some others.
Yes i have a dell at the moment but only 1080 and i am still thinking that 4k screens are overkill even more so on 27 inch monitors and my 4k video always gets down scaled to 1080 and qhd are not that far away from 4k
Probably will stick with dell now you have pointed out some issues
yes my printing is for me and not for publication

I would go with the DELL Ultrasharp U2413 in that budget range.

Even more so if you use an xrite to calibrate your monitor.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense to get the Dell U2413. You'd be getting a better monitor for sure, but it's still only 1200p. Best choices would be either the U2715H or U2515H - both are 1440p. I've got the 25" model and it's great. I think if I was doing serious amounts of editing I'd prefer the extra 2" however.

If you already have a profiler that can match to print, I'd honestly not worry too much about the monitor.

I have an XRite i1 Display Pro I use for photo editing and sending off for print (I use several print shops profiles they supply), and whilst I use several Dell Premier Colour models at work, I have also calibrated my own viewsonic VX2835WM (Hopeless TN Panel with CCFL) and I've been amazed how close it is to the Dell's, to the point no one seems to be able to really see any difference when they are side by side (using Lightroom as the editor/viewer).

By far the biggest issue that I found (which you learn to get around) is simply that a screen and print are so different in how they are lit that you need to match conditions to really compare. I use a light box to view prints (Needs carefully adjusting to get the reflected light level comparable) so I ensure a closer comparison to what I see on screen and so far this is working out really well.
