monitor goes into standby mode as soon as i get to windows login screen then i have to reset pc and go into vga or safe mode, im useing a ati 9700pro on cats 6.7 i have tried 6.8 and 6.9 also but same problem, once i reboot into vga mode or safe mode its all ok, then back to windows its usually all ok, only seems to happen when i shut pc down off overnight completely, when i get into windows its ok all day for every thing inc gameing, a very strange problem really, all was fine until a few days ago any ideals ? thx

what monitor is it? Might be worth experimenting if you do get into windows by using a lower resolution or refresh rate, see if that helps. Sounds like it possibly works fine with safe mode, but once it's getting into windows its at too high a setting

, anyway yes its a mitsubishi diamond plus 91 19" been perfect for years but just suddenly started to do it, if i restart pc within like 4 hours or so its perfect, only when i turn it off overnight and start next day i have the problem very strange dont you think ?, and usually perfect at 1280 x 1024 85 refresh rate at boot well for last few years anyhow, could it be the monitor now needs to warmup or summat ?
