Hi I am not up to speed with all the gsync and freesync terminology. I know freesync is AMD / Intel and gsync is Nvidia. I currenty have a MSI 970 gtx. If I choose a freesync monitor model (to help future proof myself). Will I still get the 144 hz on the monitor I choose but it will not switch to use the adapative syncing?

Thank you setter, so to future proof yourself and to save some money you would go for a freesync? I don't play many fps games on the pc only EQ, Wow etc.

If you want freesync or gsync, as it currently stands you end up being tied to one gpu vendor depending on the monitor you go for. Freesync screens are a bit cheaper, but to get the best out of it you would need to switch to a compatible AMD card. I opted for gsync as i already had an nvidia card.
