Monitor not coming out of power save on startup

Feel like I'm running a little blog... sorry for the incessant posting on this thread but if you think that's annoying, just think how annoying it is that my screen won't come on every morning!

Latest update... tried another monitor, but the problem persisted. So that rules out the monitor.

Are there any sort of tests that I could try to check if it's the ram or GPU or PSU or what? Problem is that I don't have access to another GPU or other bits of kit very easily.

just to check, did you revert your CPU speed back to stock?

also, as it sounds like a similar problem to mine, is your machine completely stable once in windows (after you turn off your PSU beforehand to get a picture)? ie will it run through 3dmark06 without crashing?

with mine, if i set an overclock in bios, and then save and exit, when it reboots i get no screen (but boots into windows - i hear the sound). but if like you i turn off the psu and wait for a bit, i can get a screen with the overclock, however it isn't stable and crashed with 3dmark.

this behaviour to me sounds like a PSU problem with my case especially. However i'd have expected your PSU to be upto the job, can you confirm that all the wiring from the psu is correct? does that PSU have a PCI-E power connector, or are you using a molex to PCI-E adapter? Is anything else being powered through the same cable from the PSU as the GPU (ie DVD drive, fans etc)? if so try using a different connector for those (my thinking is maybe too much power is being drawn down one cable, try to balance it out) otherwise maybe the PSU is on its way out, it would be the 1st thing i am planning to change.
