i have a 4870 ati gfx card, and a philips 230c monitor, i run windows 7 x64

i've just managed to get my monitor to take up the whole screen using overscan on max in the CCC. Any idea why its necessary to overscan? and will it harm any components?

is there anyway to do it without overscanning? i tried updating 4870 drivers but no success and theres no monitor drivers.

Thanks!

im running dvi, but it has a hdmi adapter on it, so hdmi i guess.

not sure what native is, but im running it 1080 and its a 1080p monitor?

yea it does, but i thought dvi doesnt carry sound? i used hdmi from my old monitor just didnt bother changing it. is dvi full hd aswell? i assumed it is.

and yes have it set on 1080

thank you very much guys! i connected the dvi up, which is fine now cause i got surround sound for xmas. It's utilising the whole screen now.

Thanks for your help!
