Monitor resolution not showing as an option on PC

I bought a 1440P ultrawide monitor and have it connected to a couple of systems one of which is an HP400 G6 mini with an i5 10500T and UHD630 graphics. From what I've read this should support 4k over HDMI but I don't have the option of anymore than 1440P
I've updated to the latest Intel graphics drivers and tried a different cable. I can't use display port as that port is in use from another pc.

Any other suggestions?

Was also considering getting a DP to hdmi adapter and trying it that way?

Thanks
Scott

Ha yes sorry I bought a 1440 ultrawide (3440 x 1440) not 1440P which is obviously lower resolution i than 4k so I would have thought I would have had the option to select more than 2560x1440.
Thanks

It could also be hdmi cable issue in that its version wont support the higher res. They are not all equal.

OK yeah so the iGPU is listed as supporting up to 4096 x 2304 and including 4K. But afraid as already mentioned, 1440p ultrawide is not the same which I think is 3440 x 1440. The monitor isn't physically large enough to support it.

Depending where you got the monitor from and how long ago you bought it, you might be able to return if you really want a full 4k monitor.

It's a Samsung G8 G85SD. I've had a 5070ti plugged in via display port and a 7900xt plugged in via hdmi without issue.

Hmm ok so yeah just had a quick look....

HP400 G6 lists having Displayport support 1.4 and HDMI at 1.4b - https://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/4aa7-7745enuc.pdf
AMD's page for 7900XT shows support for HDMI 2.1 - https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/desktops/radeon/7000-series/amd-radeon-rx-7900xt.html
The Samsung monitor lists HDMI support at 2.1, but Displayport at 1.4 - https://www.samsung.com/ca/monitors...34-inch-oled-ultra-wqhd-ls34dg850snxza/#specs

If possible I would try testing using Displayport between the G6 machine and the new monitor as they show the same matching support level for the port.

But afraid i'm not sure if it is a weird HDMI issue of some sort and not something i've seen or heard of before.

If possible swap the display port cable that is in use from the other PC to this one to confirm if it's HDMI that's the problem.

I ended up getting a DP to hdmi adapter which didn't help the only way I've managed to get it working was by using custom resolution utility and with a bit of trial and error and a 50hz refresh rate that's totally fine for what I use this pc for I'm not sure what the underlying issue is but I'm happy enough now.

Check for bios update for the HP.

In my experience, HP are notorious for graphical issues with GPU.

Had a weird problem in work where large excel documents would crash the graphics driver when scrolling, this was fixed by a HP bios update.

IMO you still haven't tried an actual DisplayPort connection, try that. I jumped through a million hoops with my Surface Laptop including docks etc, but was only able to get QHD at 95Hz by using a direct DisplayPort connection from the laptop.

I'm using the display port connection on the monitor from my gaming pc so id rather leave that connected and live with the hdmi but thanks for the suggestion.
