Hey guys recently purchased a new desktop (i7 2600k, Asus 6950 2gb, Corsair Vengeance 8gb) with the intention for use for gaming and 3D modelling (starting in September on second year of my course, so want to get a bit of practice in in the mean time) and watching/storing movies.

I purchased the system without a display and have been using my LG W2261VP and also tried out my dads Dell 2208WFPt monitors. I think technically the LG has a higher resolution, but the Dells display looked so much smoother and higher in quality (despite it being much older).

My first question is would I be best off with a 2 monitor display (for the modelling) or is buying a bigger (potentially higher quality) screen a better plan? Does modelling need 2 screens or will I be fine with 1?

I do not have a budget yet as I'm still looking for a summer job :/ But would end up spending more on the 2 monitors as I would probably buy 1 first and upgrade to 2 in September. Opinions and suggestions welcome :)

I would definitely go for two monitors. I do web and game development (programming) myself and having two monitors makes everything so much easier. With one monitor, it's constant alt-tabbing, resizing my IDE to see stuff behind it, just... awkward. Don't know how I lived without 2, definitely recommend.
