Hi all,

I currently have a couple of AaOC screens that are aging and a pain to switch inputs.

I have them plugged into gaming pc and plugged into my laptop for work.

To swap I need to cycle through menu options.

I guessing a switch would add input lag ? Or is that not the case anymore?

Either way I would love to keep my setup but be able to switch super easy between home and work setup.

Any recommendations?

Why would it add lag? Such a KVM switch is not cheap. Look up 'UGREEN 8K@60Hz Displayport KVM Switch 2 Monitors 2 Computers' (substitute HDMI if appropriate).

I have a usb switch hub that let's me plug my kb snd mouse into. This then goes to each pc so I can swap between the two with the same.monitor.

I am just wondering if that will give me any input lag in gaming ?

I know many years ago that was an issue.

Ok thanks I will take a look. As mentioned the advise many years ago was you would get gaming lag

A few questions quick:

Monitors:
- Resolution
- Frequency
- Display inputs

Systems:
- Display Outputs
- Requirements, just display switch or input devices?

screens are 24" 144htz - 1080p - Display port and HDMI inputs

gaming pc has Display port / HDMI

work laptop has a dock with ports ports as well, or direct is hdmi

wireless gaming mouse
wired mech keyboard

You're not a pro gamer, are you?

no, but i don't want to take a step back, i appreciate things have probably changed, but when i visited this many years back i would have suffered input lag from mouse / keyboard as well as been limited on htz

Times have changed. I work full time at home and run a single 34” ultrawide monitor with a built in KVM switch.

I have less cables to deal with and can quickly which between my work laptop and PC within seconds. I use the same mouse and keyboard for both laptop and PC.

I almost envy you! I have 3 KVMs and still have 8 screens in my home office lol.

I do something similar for work and I have a small HMDI extender its about 10cm long and tuck it out the way when I dont need it.
Plug the laptop HDMI straight in and works fine
