Basically my xbox 360 arcade has the old ypbpr cable not the full hdmi version.

what monitor has this input on it now days ?

I have a 42" bush lcd tv that has it but i would like a new pc monitor with the ypbpr input so i can stick my xbox in

What do you think ?

You can usually set the signal output type in the GPU driver. I think it will automatically use this signal type over VGA so you should be fine, anyway.

Sorry mate, not quite understanding this ? gpu in the xbox ?

Sorry it's been a long day. It's not just you, that didn't make any sense. :p If you connect it up to a PC you would have an option of changing the colour signal type. If you connect most monitors up via HDMI they will pick up the fact you are using an AV source (Xbox) rather than PC work without a hitch. If you connect via VGA then the signal type is neither here nor there.

If you use a VGA cable (I assume HDMI is not an option as it's an older model Xbox) then it should indeed work without any hassle.
