Afternoon all,

I am looking for a little bit of advice and recommendation for a new monitor.

I currently have a Benq XL2411 144hx 1080P monitor which I bought a few years ago. Great monitor, and is especially good for the old FPS. However, I have started to get into my Sim Racing recently and the 24" screen is starting to show its limitations. I am going to keep the Benq but want to get a second screen. Triple Screen is not an option due to space.

I am looking for a 1440p monitor, preferably with 144hz (Although 120hz would be ok) and a low response time. At this point budget would be capped at no more that £800, but that is top end at a push.

A couple of questions to fling out as well.

Is ultra wide worth it?
Freesync with Gsync compatibility worth it? (never had it and for all my gaming life Vsync off has been used)

My PC is a I78700k, Nvidia 1080, 16GB RAM.

Thanks in advance

Ultrawide! You'll get an Acer X34P at that price but max 120Hz. You might also get an Alienware 1440p Ultrawide for your budget but again 120Hz. You'll have a hard time driving a screen that big at 120Hz anyway. I have the Alienware with a 1080 and I get 50-60 FPS in Division 2 and 80-90 in BFV at very high settings but the G-Sync smooths it all out.

thanks MissChief.

Another question - is 32" or larger to big for 1440P. Would it be better getting a high end 27" screen?

And is curved any benefit.?

too many options! :)

It's somewhat subjective, but IMO yes... 1440p is definitely softer at 32", but equivalent to what you're coming from at 24" 1080p. It won't be any sharper. A 27" or 34" UW would be however, noticeably so, and 34" UW would definitely offer you greater immersion and a better all round experience. If you can stretch to that, do it.
