Monitor with USB hub and MBA, would this work?

Hi all,

I am planning on getting a monitor to use with my MBA for when I am sat at my desk. I was thinking of getting a Dell with a 4 port usb hub built in.

My plan is to plug my keyboard, mouse and some usb speakers into the monitor as they would only be used when I am at my desk.

That way, when I want to use the MBA at my desk I just need to plug in the monitor connection and the usb connection to the monitor.

Would this work? Does anyone currently use a Dell monitor with built in usb hub with thier mac?
