monitoring gpu temps

geforce 6800...

speedfan wont monitor its temps..

So I needed to know how you guys monitor your GPU temps?

cheers mate...but wont coolbits overclock it as well if i add it to the reg?

Im not so sure so am clarifying? as I only wish to check the gpu temps and not overclock the card..

pls advise?

CoolBits won't overclock if you don't tell it to.

I thought the temps were reported in the nVidia control panel anyway, without needing CoolBits?

ahh thats right ....

as far as temps are concerned nvidia control panel doesnt report them not as far as I can see anyway...

Nvidia CP does report gpu temps, you should see a Temperature settings option in the slide out menu.

Nope I am using 84.21 drivers and I cant see it...I know there are new drivers out....

hmmmm

I'm also using the 84.21 drivers (old but working 100%), and get the Temperature settings in control panel... I have heard that some gfx card manufacturers disable the onboard temperature sensors on their cards, therefore control panel wont display it? I know my old Asus 6600GT wouldn't report its temps, but my new XFX 7800GTX does... Either way, the 84.21 drivers do support temperature monitoring, as long as your card does aswell...

If you have a 6800series card you should be able to get the temperature from it as all had sensors built in although XFXs were quite often knackered initially. If it is a 4X00 series then it is too old, I think it was only with the 6800series that they were introduced as standard for Nvidia.
