Just reading the Are we going to see higher resolution TFT's soon? thread, and many people think that screens with resolutions avove say 1280x1024 for a 17" Monitor was stupid.
I always thought that super resolution screens say 10x higher dot pitch than current screens (e.g. 12,800x10,240) was a logical step in computing, just imagine, text, even really small would look great as the curves would be very discrete. Photos would be able to be viewed at full resolution at great detail, anti-alising in games would hardly be needed at all. Things would look the same size on the screen e.g. start menu, text size, just much higher detail.
Obviously it is not possible at the moment due to TFT and graphics processing technologies not being upto the task yet, and OSs would have to be modified to have super resolution icons but its not exactly space age technology.
