NEC MultiSync® LCD20WGX2 20.1" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-009-NE)

Some xerox screens and a lot of Sonys also have it but I don't know which ones and don't see any on OCuk.

Not many at all have glossy screens but the 20" NEC is stunning.

it all boils down to how much i get paid and i dont think i could afford to buy the NEC. any otherS?

I really think it's worth saving for the NEC. I certainly wouldn't be happy lumping for the dell 2007 or viewsonic2025.

You're stupidly picky then. My 2025 is wicked. Been really happy with it for a few months now and would happily recommend it to anyone. The quality is top notch, the styling (although personal opinion) is really nice.

The only downside to the monitor is the fact it doesn't have 1:1 pixel mapping, but you can generally crack most games for the resolution.

There is no way the NEC is worth around 100 quid more than the VX2025.

I just got my 2007WFP.

Its so much better than I hoped. Perfectly crisp text, NO banding, contrast is awesome. I really could not be happier. Its even better than my philips 20" (only by a lil bit though).

I love it. I say go for that, its cheaper to.

Quite a few Acer brand monitors have glossy screens. Called CrystalBrite technology.

I have used all 3 a lot. The NEC is very much worth the price and the dell is superior to the 2025. About the same price too. You come across as a bit of a nonce with that statement.

The picture quality, the vibrancy, the DVM contrast, the lack of haze on the screen all make it superior to the VS 2025

I've seen the NEC as a mate has it and in my opinion it is no way worth around 100 quid more than mine. To be fair it don't matter if I came across "as a bit of a nonce" because statements on here can seem like they are said differently to what they are implied. I still think you're being picky and for me £100+ can be better spent elsewhere.

The VX2025 is a wicked monitor and I'd quite happily buy another and recommend them to anyone. Excellent quality, very good price, really nice design = winner imo.

You're just repeating yourself mate. We've both had our say so why the need to repeat your post again?

Regardless, we should stay on topic.

A lot of laptop monitors have the glossy finish so I'm not sure why this hasn't translated across to desktop monitors much.

Well, it has S-Video and Composite. You can use Picture in Picture while this is happen, or PNP.

The colour controls are SLIGHTLY more adjustable on the Dell, and I have to admit I prefer the look. THe philips looks awesome, but the speakers at the bottom of the screen are anoying.

Lastly, the dells stand seems a bit more adjustable (you can have it in portrait mode for example) and it also has a 4 in one usb port.

I do LOVE the philips a lot though. I say the dell is only better in terms of features, everything else its about equal.

I don't know why some of you lot have to resort to having to call each other names just because they like one monitor over the other.

Some people love the NEC. Other people can't stand the glossy coating. Some people think the Dell is the best thing since sliced bread. Other people prefer sliced bread. 2025 has got an excellent reviews. Other people have commented on the anti-glare coating making it look like its just come out of the freezer.

Each to his own.
