Maybe its time to start playing through the LucasArts archive again....(see sig)

That play is class, suprised the Lucas lawyers didnt swoop down on int.

Well considering im only 18, I can hardly be accused of sitting around saying "ah games arent like the good old days".

And dont get me wrong, I liked and played completely through both other Monkey Islands, it's just one of the things I loved about 1+2 was the storyline, and then 3 all of a sudden went from Guybrush being a kid with his "brother" lechuck plus parents etc, that was going to set up into a big finale, to Guybrush proposing to Elaine, who was suddenly an entirely different personality to previously.

Dont get me wrong, I rate them as games, just not really as part of the series.

And for the record, i DO play new games, in fact im surrounded by games i wasted my money on this year.
 
1 + 2 were absolutely fundamentally classic classic games.

Played them to death on the Amiga, I love playing them now on the PC.

3 was so-so. Great in places, but overall ok.

4 was hideous. 3D garbage with that pointless and completely retarded 'monkey combat' inclusion. What an insult to Ron Gilbert honestly.

Monkey Kombat was a laugh the first time.

The only stupid problem was that although insult fighting can be remembered which comebacks etc, with monkey kombat you had to remember which stance beat which, and how to go from each stance to each of the others.

Thinking about it, how did i ever like that :(

You hit the nail on the head.. thousands of gamers would love to see it...

But millions would be needed to be sold.. not thousands.. Often 100's and 1000's of people like the idea of a game but if it wont sell near a 1,000,000 units it wont get mad eunless under a "budget" title.
