Its a shame there is no more interest in this genre of games, everything is just fps and rpgs now. I have great memories of struggling through the Monkey Island games without the internet and access to a walkthrough guide.

Life was hard back then :)

I used to live the Monkey Island games! It was because of Monkey Island 2 that I had to get a couple of extra floppy drives for my Amiga - the constant disc swapping drove me nuts.

I think my favourite game of that genre was Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, I used to play that for hours on end.

you failed to mention two of the best point&click games around...

syberia (9.1@gamespot)
+
the longest journey (9.3@gamespot)

both more recent than the games you mentioned, and just as good.

thought the aventure game was fate of atlantis maybe wrong

lucasarts adventure games > any other game IMHO

see sig for details....

Can i also recommend The Dig and Full Throttle, Loom is quite good too.

Thank god for SCUMMVM

Having almost a full lucasarts back catalogue is having some nice benefits now, there seems to be a demand for them all, i could double the ammount i paid if i sold day of the tentacle.

Very tempting.

Just to add i have some of these on sale in the MM if anyone is interested :p

Beneath a Steel sky is freeware now. Runs fine on any system with SCUMMVM :)

What!? When did this happen  And where? :P

Edit: I also remember The Day Of The Tentacle map on the game "Zombies" for the snes, it was quite good :p

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis was an excellent game. Had 11 or 12 disks on the Amiga though. I used to enjoy the Sierra series - Kings Quests, Police Quests, Heroes Quests, Space Quests. All good fun games.
