monsters vs aliens

Watched it yesterday in 3D, it was "ok" nothing special, most of the best gags were in the trailer I think.
 
I thought it was an excellent film, Dreamworks will never be Pixar but they are getting better. The bit that gave homage to Close Encounters was funny. I liked how they dealt with the scale of the protagonists and antagonists.

Seth Roegen did a great job with B.O.B. In fact the voice acting was one of the better parts of the film.
 
Saw it a few days and left the cinema completely underwhelmed. The story's weak and unoriginal and most of the characters are just dull. Other than a few cracking jokes and one liners it really hasn't got much going for it. Not a patch on WALL-E, Kung Fu Panda or even Bolt.
 
I thought it had a few really funny moments (bob going to throw the car off the bridge :D) but didn't quite hit it out of the park.

The 3D process has really improved over the past two years though, both this and bolt were easy to watch without losing focus when looking at background objects wheras beowulf was pretty poor in this regard, and live action 3d such as my bloody valentine still had this issue.
 
Saw this on Saturday and can safely say it was the biggest waste of time ever. I didn't laugh once, it's like they didn't even try to put any jokes in, and I'd say I've got a pretty decent sense of humour.

Still, the popcorn and the pepsi was nice.
 
Went to see it last night and was really dissapointed :(

After Kung Fu Panda this was a bit of a let down from Dreamworks.

Also didnt help that i watched Lost & Found on ch4 that morning which was absolutley amazing and a real showcase of what animation can do.

Sums up just how I found it. My son enjoyed it though, so that's what counts.

Also, because everyone was wearing the 3d specs, nobody noticed that I had a sneaky snooze for 20 minutes during the film. That's a pretty good indicator of how naff I found this film ;)
 
Tried watching it twice, just doesn't capture my boys or my attention well enough to stay on though!
